Greetings,
I am writing to express my interest in the software developer apprenticeship/internship. Although my previous work experience may not directly relate to software development, I believe my skills and motivation make me a strong candidate.
During my time at Kupaga Villas, I developed and executed a social media strategy that increased engagement by 60% and grew followers by 25% across Facebook and Instagram. Through this experience, I learned how to manage paid social media advertising campaigns and
utilize analytics tools to track performance, resulting in a 30% increase in website traffic and a 10% increase in villa bookings. I also collaborated with other teams to ensure social media campaigns were aligned with the overall company strategy and contributed to increased revenue.
At Espresso Alley, I gained experience providing excellent customer service, managing inventory and supplies, operating the cash register, and collaborating with other staff members to ensure efficient and timely service. These skills have honed my problem-solving and
critical-thinking abilities and enabled me to work effectively in fast-paced environments.
I recently completed my education in Software Engineering at Moringa School, where I honed my skills in frontend technologies such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, and gained experience in frameworks like React and Ruby on Rails. I also had the opportunity to work with backend technologies such as Ruby and SQL databases, allowing me to have a comprehensive understanding of full-stack development. At the moment, I am self-learning Python and hope to achieve the same level of competency as I have in Ruby and JavaScript in the coming months.
Currently, I am contributing to the development of Mentorlst at SpaceYaTech, an open-source community that mentors young Africans in technology. In this role, I have been using React and Tailwind to develop aspects of the front end of the platform that I am assigned, integrating it with the backend, and actively participating in code reviews, debugging, and testing to maintain high-quality standards.
One of my proudest achievements while studying at Moringa School is the AmazonClone project, a replica of the Amazon e-commerce site. Using React, React Router, Redux, and Firebase, my team and I implemented user authentication, cart management, and payment processing. This project not only reinforced my technical skills but also enhanced my abilities in collaboration and project management as I
was the Scrum Master during the project duration. I am highly motivated, adaptable, and I possess strong teamwork and communication skills developed through collaboration with a diverse group of fellow students at Moringa School. I am confident that my skills and experience make me an ideal candidate for this position.
