I am Cynthia Mbuya from Kenya.
I graduated with Bachelor of Education Arts in English and Literature (with Information Technology) from Maseno university. I also hold a Certificate in Sign Language from West Kenya Deaf Development Group.
During my education period at the University, I was part of the Organizing Committee of the Maseno University Maestro Association. Specifically, I ensured that the Association activities that had over 100 members were planned as per the yearly budget with an aim to inspire the youths across secondary schools and the university. I was the Badminton Coach at Koderobara Secondary School.
I worked at Koderobara Secondary School as an English and Literature teacher. Previously, I worked at Friends School Kidundu Secondary School as a Teacher of English for a year (Jan 4th 2020-Dec 23rd 2020) where I was also the Head of Clubs and Societies. During my Bachelor’s Degree attachment program, I worked at Eldoret Kandie Secondary school as an English and Literature teacher for three months and volunteered at Victory Seventh Day Adventist Church as a Sign Language Interpreter during weekly church services. Currently am working at Friends School Kaptola Secondary School, as the Teacher of English and Assistant Boarding Mistress. All in all, I also worked as a researcher with the Dexis Consulting Group as a Field Enumerator Research Team.
My cumulative experience in teaching English and Literature and Sign Language has provided a basis for development of my technical skills and enhanced work ethic. This makes me well suited for the provided opportunity. My agility and ability to learn fast is demonstrated in the extracurricular activities I participated in the University and experience I have gotten for functionally diverse roles.
