I am applying for this position because I am passionate about delivering safe, high-quality patient care and contributing to effective surgical services. I hold a Higher Diploma in Peri-Operative Theatre Technology from Tricent School of Medical Science and Technology and am licensed by the Kenya Health Professions Oversight Authority (KHPOA).

Through my professional experience as a Scrub Nurse at Mama Lucy Kibaki Hospital and my ongoing volunteer work at Mbagathi Hospital, I have developed practical skills in operating theatre preparation, surgical instrumentation, infection prevention and control, sterile techniques, and perioperative patient care. I have experience supporting multidisciplinary teams during surgical procedures, ensuring the availability of instruments and equipment, maintaining sterile fields, and contributing to patient safety throughout the perioperative journey.

I am committed to maintaining high professional standards and adhering to policies and procedures designed to ensure patient safety and quality care. My training and experience have enabled me to work effectively in fast-paced environments while remaining calm, organised, and attentive to detail. I understand the importance of confidentiality, dignity, respect, and compassionate care for all patients.

I possess strong communication and teamwork skills and enjoy working collaboratively with surgeons, nurses, anaesthetists, and other healthcare professionals. I am also proficient in computer applications, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, email, and electronic documentation systems.

My clinical placement at Haven Hospital further strengthened my understanding of perioperative practice, infection control, patient-centred care, and the importance of maintaining a safe theatre environment. These experiences have helped me develop the confidence and professionalism required to contribute positively to healthcare teams.
