To whom it may concern
I'm writing this essay to state the reason for my interest in medicine.
My years at university started of very smoothly, as I have been set on my desire to become a doctor, and due to financial constraint I wanted to apply for nursing and have a medical background and build myself up towards becoming a doctor. When I was suppose to start my first year, the university HR that receives applications lost my application and because the intake for nursing was now full they handed me a letter of acceptance for management. I knew that it was not what I wanted to do, so I applied for nursing the year after. For as long as I can remember I wanted to become a doctor because my heart was always to help the broken (emotionally, physically, spiritually, financially). I this went into the nursing field and obtained my BCUR in Nursing science, however my desire to be a medical doctor how not been met. I want to be all that I've always desired to be, and be able to one day serve the community of South Africa especially the children. My family went through a life changing situation that affected me so much that studying became so difficult but through counseling, having a great support of lecturers and colleagues thee graced of God kept me and I graduated. Life does become taught at some point but I've come to learn that I am more than an overcome and my desire is to have the community of kids that has come to know me through nursing, must know that nothing is impossible. I am a leader by nature, I have been facilating at many youth development camps. I am also a Sunday school teacher, one of the youth leaders at church. So I have been well groomed to relate to people. As a registered nurse I am working with paediatrics. I love children, I love seeing how they transition from being really sick to laughing, playing around and being pain free. Our children are our future and I know that will being more specifically trained, in the depth that medicine gives, I will be even more equipped to render care to children and adults that has different illnesses.
Thus I hope that as a university that has already trained many professionals, that I will be one of the many that will come from your school.
I hope to hear from you soon
Kind Regards
Ms R. E. Pesencie
